20160524_182606-1_JoshAfter a historic win last week, the Leviathan were hoping that there would be no “let-down” verses Dr Martin Luther Church (DMLC) on Tuesday night at Legendary Legion Field in Delafield. Thankfully, there was no let-down and the bats were banging as White Stone Leviathan improved to 3-0-1 on the season with a 24-9 win. The guys started hot and jumped to a 7-0 lead in the first inning and then kept piling on. It was 11-0 after 2 innings, 14-0 after 3 innings, and 17-0 after 4 innings. DMLC tried there best to make a comeback and strung together a handful of walks and a couple hits to make it 18-6 after 5 innings, but it was all way-too-little, way-too-late. The White Stone men tallied 6 more in the top of the 7th and the final score was 24-9.
Caleb Kruse pitched a solid 4 shutout innings and was definitely one of the big stars on the night for the Leviathan. The WS defense also pulled off 2 double-plays on the night, which are a rarity in softball. Some of the offensive MVPs on the night were Brad Fraser (4-4, 2B, 3B, 3R, RBI), Max Cavaiani (4-4, 2 2B, HR, 3R, 3RBI), Luke Schweng (4-4, 2 2B, HR, 4R, 4RBI), Kirk Hansen (3-5, 3B, 2R), and Adam Andrus (3-5, 2B, HR, 2R, 4RBI).
Team leader Matt Sell had this to say about Tuesday’s win,
“I’m proud of our guys tonight…we could’ve come out flat after last week’s big win, but instead we came out punching. And when I say punching, I’m not talking figuratively—I literally came out punching. I kind of got into a scuffle with the tiger mascot from the other team. Anyways, after I regained consciousness, I knew that we had the fight we needed to come out and play hard tonight. And I want that mascot to know that I’m sorry for fighting her…and I know I always say this, but that’s the last time I’ll ever fight a mascot.”

The Leviathan are now 3-0-1 and look forward to next week’s game vs @6pm at the YMCA at Pabst Farms.
