WS Beat Divine Redeemer to Advance

It was another hot night in Oconomowoc as the Leviathan began the League Playoffs on Tuesday night. The guys took on Divine Redeemer in a rematch that saw the Leviathan narrowly win by a score of 12-6 in the regular season. Tonight’s 1st round match-up was another close game, as the guys from White Stone won by a score of 10-7. 2016-08-02 19.16.35_result
Adam Andrus got his first start on the mound and pitched a beauty of a game! White Stone jumped out to a 7-3 lead after 4 innings, but DR stormed back with 4 in the 5th to tie the game. The Leviathan responded with 3 in the bottom of the 5th, and that proved to be the difference.

White Stone played some stellar defense and had some timely hitting. Some of the offensive stars for the game were Josh Watson (2-3, 3B, HR, 2R, 4RBI), Tigh Kemnitz (2-3, HR, 2R, RBI), Brian Zastrow (2-3, RBI), Ben Orvold (2-2), Adam Andrus (3-3, 3 doubles, 3R), and Brad Fraser (2-3, 3B, R, RBI). Josh Watson, Tigh Kemnitz, and Luke Dye all hit huge home runs for the Leviathan!

The Leviathan improved their season record to 5-6, and advanced to the 2nd round of the League Playoffs. The Boys in Red are now scheduled to play their White Stone brothers and Regular Season Champions, the Behemoth (#1 seed, 9-1). The game will be at 7pm tonight (Aug 2)!
