PLAYOFFS: Leviathan Fall to Blue in Round 2

It was an up-and-down season for the White Stone Leviathan Softball team, so yesterdays 2nd round playoff loss to Oakwood Blue seemed like a pretty typical game. Some mental and physical errors, and also a lack of consistent hitting. White Stone began the game with a run in the first inning, but Blue answered with a run in the 2nd, and 3 runs in the 3rd. White Stone put up 2 runs pulled within one in the 5th inning, making the score 4-3, but they couldn’t quite complete the comeback. In 2 crazy innings and a few close calls, Blue tallied 8 runs in the 5th and 6th innings to put the game away. White Stone had a few bright spots at the plate: Brad Fraser (2-3, 2B, run), Jake Andrus (2-3, 3B, run, rbi), Brandon Kane (2-2, 2B, run), and Josh Watson (2-3).

It is the 2nd straight season the Leviathan lost in the second round of the playoffs with a rough offensive performance. Last year they lost to (eventual League Champions) Westbrook Alpha by a score of 5-0. White Stone finishes the season at 6-6, and looks to improve during the 2015 league campaign. Thanks to all the fans and supporters the team has had this season—we love to play in front of you! Thank you for being examples of Jesus to our team, and to other teams and fans. Winning softball games is fun, but our ultimate goal is to glorify and worship our KING (Jesus), in all that we say, do, and think—whether we’re on the field or anywhere else!
