Leviathan Fall to Behemoths

30 07 2014

The White Stone BrothersIn a battle of White Stone brothers, the Behemoths won their first game ever in the storied rivalry Tuesday night at the YMCA by a score of 11-4. But they didn’t just win, they really dominated the Leviathan. The guys got themselves into a bad hole early, as the Behemoths put up 7 runs in the first two innings thanks to good hitting and very poor Leviathan defense. The game was already out of hand after the 3rd inning, as the score was 9-1 in favor of the Behemoths.

The Leviathan lacked quality fielding, and also lacked clutch hits on Tuesday night. Besides playing against their brothers on Tuesday night, there were few bright spots in the game. Offensively, Tigh Kemnitz (3-3, 2 runs, rbi), Matt Sell (2-2, run), & Brad Fraser (2-4) led the team. Brian Zastrow made a spectacular catch in right field for the lone defensive highlight.

Congrats to the Behemoths on the (friendly) rivalry game victory, as they improve to a stellar 7-2 record, and currently hold the #3 seed in the league. The Leviathan fall to 5-4, and are now at the #6 seed. The Leviathan try to bounce back next week as they take on league leading Lake Country Christians (9-0) at Legion Field @ 7pm! Come on out and support the team!!
