The Leviathan jumped out to an early lead against their brothers from White Stone–and they never looked back. The Leviathan defeated the Behemoths by a score of 15-11 on Tuesday night at Legion Field. It’s the 2nd win in as many years for the Leviathan over their friendly rivals.
The Leviathan started the game on a terror, and they took a 14-4 lead after 3 innings of play. The Behemoths mounted a comeback, though, as they outscored the Leviathan 7-1 in the last 4 innings. The comeback fell short, however, as the Leviathan beat the Behemoths for the 2nd straight year with a 15-11 win. The Leviathan move into 3rd place in the league with a 7-3 record, while the Behemoths move to 6th place with a 5-5 record.
The Leviathan defense was again solid, with only a few miscues on the night. The offensive leaders on the night were: Brian Zastrow (3 for 3, double, run, 3rbi), Michael Javornik (2 for 3, double, run), Luke Schweng (2 for 3, double, run, 2rbi), and Adam Andrus (3 for 3, rbi, 2 runs scored).
With the “rivalry game” win, the Leviathan also brought home the traveling trophy for the 2nd consecutive year. The trophy symbolizes brotherhood, honor, love, and a passion for grilling. Congrats to the Leviathan! A special thank you to all the White Stone fans who came out to support both of the teams! It was an amazing and fun atmosphere to be a part of! Gotta love God’s family!!!
Next Tuesday, the guys play a make-up game at Legion Field (@6pm) vs the Divine Redeemer Crusaders. Please come out and continue to support the Leviathan!! The League Playoffs begin in 2 weeks!!
