Tonight the White Stone Leviathan scored 20 runs after scoring 21 last week…and they finally won 2 games in a row for the first time this season. The guys beat the DR Beacons by a score of 20-4. It was a complete game for White Stone–great offense and strong defense. The bats started early for the Leviathan, as they had a 10-2 lead through only 2 innings, and then took a 15-2 lead in the bottom of the 4th. With the game well out of hand, the Beacons got 2 runs in the 6th, only to have the guys respond with 5 more runs in the bottom half of the inning. The win was a sweet one for White Stone, as the Beacons were the team to knock them from the league playoffs last season by an embarrassing score of 20-3.
On the defensive end, Michael Javornik was a stud at 3rd base, making several great plays! Josh Watson (SS) and Luke Schweng (2nd base) also made some nice plays of their own. Some of the offensive stars for White Stone were Kirk Hansen (4-4, 3runs), Adam Andrus (4-4, 4runs, rbi), Brandon Kane (3-4, 2runs, 2rbi), and Jake Andrus (4-4, 2HR, 4runs, 9 rbi). After the game, Kirk Hansen (who recently came of the PUP list), smugly had this to say about the game,
“We really played a complete game tonight! It was a great win for us…and good to keep the momentum rolling. It’s funny, because I started playing a few weeks ago, and we’ve scored more then 40 runs combined in those games. Coincidence?”
The Leviathan move to 4-2 on the season, as the DR Beacons drop to 2-4. Next week the guys take on the DR Crusaders at 6pm @ Legion Field in Delafield. Please come out and support the team—our fans have been fantastic this year!!
