Big MOS 6th Downs Omega

Javo making a play from third

The Men of Stone recorded their second straight win as they defeated a tough Westbrook Omega team on Tuesday by a score of 11-7. Coming into the game, Omega had a 5-3 record, while White Stone had a 4-4 record. The Men of Stone started strong and had a 4-0 lead by the end of the 3rd inning, but Westbrook charged back tallying 4 runs in the 4th. White Stone held a 6-5 lead until the 6th inning, when the guys hit the cover off the ball for 5 more runs…and that was when the rain started. Omega was able to score 2 runs in the 7th, but it wasn’t enough as the MOS held on for the win, 11-7. Soon after the game the rain started coming down hard.

It was a good performance from the guys, especially from the defense and pitching. There were only a couple mistakes on the field, and the pitching from LaTour and Harper got the job done. Josh Watson led all White Stone hitters with 3 hits, and 6 other guys added 2 hits. Luke Dye and Jake Andrus had 2 RBI each. White Stone also recorded 2 Triples on the night (Watson & Dye)!

We caught up with Player/Manager Matt Sell after the game,
“I had a great weekend with my wife…i had an amazing 4th of July yesterday, and this…this caps it all off! A nice win versus a good Omega team tonight! Hopefully we can keep this going come next week!”

White Stone are back above .500 now, at 5-4. The MOS take on DR Crusaders next Tuesday at 7pm, at Lake Country Lutheran High School. Please come out and cheer on the guys!
