The Men of Stone completed the 2008 season in disappointing fashion, losing 5 of their last 6 games. The final record for the season was 5-6-1. The season started out well, as the MOS won 4 of their first 6 games (including 1 tie), but inconsistent defense and a struggling offense was too much for the men from White Stone to overcome.
Although their record was somewhat disappointing, the 2008 season did have it’s exciting moments as the Men of Stone scored their most runs ever in week 5, beating the DR Crusaders by a score of 33-13. There was also some excitement in Week 7 against, at the time, 1st place Oakwood Blue. The MOS scored the game winning run in the bottom of the 7th to win 12-11, and hand Blue its first loss of the season.
The Men of Stone now own a 12-11-1 team record, and they look to have another successful season in the summer of 2009. Thanks to Commish/Manager Matt Sell, and all the players who played this season. A special thanks to all the White Stone Softball fans who came out and supported this years team! Without you, this season wouldn’t have been possible…well, honestly, it would have been possible—just not as fun! See you next summer!
